South Florida SMASH HLS has learned that a large shipment of vervet monkeys will arrive at Miami Int’l Airport THIS WEEK. Amerijet is flying the monkeys from the island of Saint Kitts on behalf of a company called Three Springs Scientific, a lab animal supplier based in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. The exporter is the Behavioural Sciences Foundation, of Basseterre, Saint Kitts. (Three Springs Scientific previously imported 60 vervet monkeys into Miami from Saint Kitts in March 2010.)
