EL-AL WILL HOLD TRUE- THEY WILL NOT TRANSPORT MONKEYS FOR LABS

Reported by Shut Down Mazor Farm

S U C C E S S !!!!!!!!

El-Al has just informed the animal organizations: we will keep our promise from September 2010 and not fly the Mazor farm monkeys!

After the last couple of weeks in which the campaign against El-Al has been renewed, the company, receiving tens of thousands of emails, Facebook messages, phone calls and boycott petition signatures, informed the animal organizations that took place in the campaign that it will not transport any monkeys for Mazor farm, even if it will have to face legal actions from Mazor farm’s side.

Since many months various organizations and activists, from Israel and worldwide, have demanded El-Al to clarify whether it is in its intention to transport the current due monkeys shipment from Mazor farm to SNBL Laboratories in TX, USA.

Today (June 18th 2012) El-Al renewed its commitment that it will not fly the Mazor farm monkeys, as per its announcement of September 2010.

The company has guaranteed to refrain from transporting animals for experimentation, including Mazor farm monkeys, and has made it clear that while there is no final court ruling on the subject that forces it to act contrary to its September 2010 decision, it will refrain from doing so, and will not transport monkeys for Mazor farm or any other organization. El-Al, like the animal organizations, are certain that it is neither plausible nor possible to force it to fly animals against its will, a statement which was also lately supported in an official letter of opinion by the Attorney General of Israel.

The animal organizations have stated in response: “We congratulate El-Al for its decision not to transport any monkeys from Mazor farm. We have made it clear to the company that should it break its commitment given today, as it has previously done regarding its September 2010 announcement, we will do everything that is in our power to make sure that any conscious and decent person will never fly again in the company’s airliners. We would like to thank the general public for supporting this campaign, in Israel and worldwide, and would like to stress that we will keep our follow-up on the subject and make sure that El-Al’s guarantee is in fact kept and that no animal is transported by the company to the inferno of the torture laboratories.”
