House committee reminds America of Matt Block’s history of wildlife trafficking
On September 10, the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing in which a few committee members attempted to create doubts about the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service’s ongoing investigation into the smuggling of wild-caught monkeys from Cambodia. It quickly became clear that the vivisection industry had pushed for the hearing in the hopes of salvaging the reputation of American companies, including Worldwide Primates, who have been identified as co-conspirators in the criminal case that was launched in November 2022. But thanks to Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury, the hearing instead became an opportunity to publicly talk about many of the problems of the international trade in primates. Rep. Melanie Stansbury, in this clip, also got Worldwide Primates’ attorney to admit that his client has his own history of criminal wildlife smuggling!
